When asked about the concept of The Funder Games CEO of the A Hilton Group, Andrew Hilton had this to say…
“We have been heavily involved in fund raising for Hospiscare over the past two years now. Our Group Development Director is a keen sportsman and came up with the concept of the Funder Games and how I could I refuse? This is networking for businesses at its best. Fun competition, meeting new businesses and above all else making lots of lovely money for a great charity.”

Why We’re Supporting Hospicecare Exeter
When the opportunity came to support the Hilton Ames Funder Games in aid of Hospicecare Exeter, we didn’t hesitate. Hospicecare Exeter does incredible work providing specialist care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as offering vital assistance to their families. Their commitment to ensuring people receive compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care is something we deeply admire and wholeheartedly support.
Events like the Funder Games are a fantastic way to not only raise awareness but also bring businesses, teams, and the local community together for an important cause. It’s more than just an event—it’s about making a real difference to people who need it most.
At R50, we know that success isn’t just about business—it’s about being part of a community and using our platform to support initiatives that change lives. The Funder Games is a perfect example of what can happen when businesses and people come together with a shared purpose.
Hospiscare is the hospice charity providing specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Central and East Devon.
As an independent local charity, Hospiscare has been supporting people in Devon living with lifelimiting illnesses for over 40 years. We’ve expanded our area over that time and now cover over 1,000 square miles of our county including Exeter and Central and East Devon.
We support patients diagnosed with any type of terminal illness. Our services include support at home, a specialist palliative care ward, outpatients clinics, and supportive therapies. We support over 2,000 people each year, in some of the hardest times possible. With just 18% of our funding coming from the NHS, we need to raise around £10 million a year to continue to provide our care, relying on the generous support of local people and communities.
Over 500 volunteers and our regular donors and supporters help us to care for people when they’re most in need, no matter what their individual circumstances may be.
We’re proud that our care is rated as ‘five star’ by patients and families across Devon and as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

We are progressive, the south-west’s leading roofing and cladding contractor. We collaborate closely with construction companies, property groups, and architects to design and execute exceptional projects for their clients.
Since 1988, our experienced in-house design capability has provided a huge competitive advantage and over time has equipped us with the structure, confidence and determination to work on the most ambitious (and in turn rewarding) projects.
We welcome the bold, large-scale projects but equally value the smaller ones, and it’s not just roofing and cladding, we also focus on coatings and maintenance through our two sister companies. We bring over three decades (some of us are really that old!) of experience in safety and design expertise to every project. We are proud to have worked on a great number of remarkable projects for some big names such as David Lloyd, The Range, Amazon and our local premiership rugby club, the Exeter Chiefs, to name a few.
That’s enough about us! We are absolutely thrilled to be the silver sponsor of the Hilton Ames Funder Games this year. We are a sporty bunch, and competitive too, so we are itching to get our trainers on and have a laugh, but more importantly we are chuffed to bits to be able to raise money for Hospiscare, a local charity close to many of us at progressive.
The support that Hospiscare provide to people in our community is immeasurable, so getting our sweats on to raise money and awareness for them is a no brainer! Bring it on.
